Aji Guyana (Capsicum baccatum) 2L Pot
Aji Guyana is a Capsicum baccatum variety from Guyana grown for its long yellow fruit and fruity flavour.
The plant develops a tall, branching habit and can carry numerous slender peppers under suitable conditions. The fruit begins green before ripening to bright yellow.
Aji Guyana peppers have a citrus-like, fruity flavour accompanied by medium heat. They can be used fresh in salads and salsas or added to sauces, marinades, cooked dishes and dried seasoning.
In the UK, Aji Guyana grows most reliably in a greenhouse or polytunnel because the plant requires warmth and a long growing season.

Growing Advice
Grow your Aji Guyana in fertile, well-draining compost in a warm and bright position. Move the plant into a large and stable container as it develops.
Keep the compost evenly moist throughout active growth. Avoid repeated wilting while the plant is flowering or producing fruit.
Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser during early growth. Change to a high-potassium tomato feed once flowers or young peppers appear.
The tall and spreading branches may require support, particularly when carrying a heavy crop.
Plants may be placed outside during warm summer weather but generally produce more reliable results under glass.
Aji Guyana may be overwintered in a bright, frost-free position.
Fruiting in the UK
Aji Guyana can produce fruit in the UK when provided with sufficient warmth and strong light.
The peppers may be harvested green but develop their characteristic colour and fruity flavour as they ripen to yellow. A greenhouse or polytunnel gives the best chance of full ripening.
