Annona × atemoya is a hybrid fruit tree produced from Cherimoya and Sugar Apple.
Atemoya develops an upright, branching habit with elongated green leaves. Mature plants produce fleshy yellow-green flowers followed by rounded or heart-shaped green fruit with a segmented or uneven surface.
The ripe white flesh has a soft, custard-like texture and a sweet, aromatic flavour combining characteristics of both parent species.
In the UK, Atemoya is best grown in a heated greenhouse, conservatory or large container. It generally prefers warmer conditions than Cherimoya but is more tolerant of cooler weather than Sugar Apple.

Growing Advice
Grow your Atemoya in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-draining compost. Move the plant into progressively larger containers as it grows.
Keep the compost evenly moist during active growth, particularly during flowering and fruit development. Avoid prolonged waterlogging.
Place the plant somewhere warm, bright and sheltered from strong winds. Good ventilation is beneficial during warm greenhouse conditions.
Feed regularly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser. Change to a high-potassium feed once flowers begin to develop.
Overwinter in a bright, frost-free greenhouse or conservatory. Keeping the plant above approximately 10°C is recommended, although warmer conditions will support more consistent growth.
Fruiting in the UK
Atemoya requires sustained warmth, plant maturity and successful pollination to produce fruit.
Flowers pass through separate female and male stages, and hand pollination may be needed to achieve reliable fruit set under glass.
Fruit production is possible in a heated greenhouse or conservatory but cannot be guaranteed in the UK.
