Habanero Galapagos is a red-fruited Capsicum chinense variety grown for its wrinkled peppers and strong heat.
The plant develops a bushy, branching habit with broad green leaves. The fruit begins green before ripening to a bright or deep red colour.
The mature peppers are usually lantern-shaped or slightly elongated, with a folded and wrinkled surface. They have a fruity, citrus-like habanero flavour accompanied by considerable heat.
The peppers can be used in small quantities in hot sauces, salsas, marinades and cooked dishes.
In the UK, Habanero Galapagos grows best in a greenhouse or polytunnel where it can receive steady warmth.

Growing Advice
Grow your Habanero Galapagos in fertile, well-draining compost in a consistently warm and bright position. Move the plant into a larger container if required to support continued growth and fruit production.

Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser during early growth. Change to a high-potassium tomato feed once flowers or young peppers appear.
Plants can be placed outside during settled warm weather but should be protected from cool nights and strong winds.
Habanero Galapagos may be overwintered in a bright, frost-free position.

Habanero Galapagos can produce fruit in the UK when provided with sufficient warmth and strong light.
Greenhouse or polytunnel cultivation gives the best chance of the peppers ripening fully from green to red.

Important Information
Habanero Galapagos is a cultivated Capsicum chinense variety. It should not be confused with Capsicum galapagoense, a separate wild Capsicum species native to the Galápagos Islands.
