Ecuadorian Angel’s Trumpet is an Ecuadorian flowering shrub grown for its long, hanging trumpet-shaped flowers.
The plant develops broad green leaves on upright, branching stems. Mature plants produce some of the longest flowers found within the Brugmansia genus.
Flowers commonly open white or cream before developing peach, apricot or pale pink colouring as they mature. They are often fragrant, particularly during the evening.
In the UK, Ecuadorian Angel’s Trumpet is best grown in a heated greenhouse, conservatory or large summer patio container. It requires warmer conditions than Brugmansia sanguinea and Brugmansia vulcanicola.

Growing Advice
Grow your Ecuadorian Angel’s Trumpet in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-draining compost. Move the plant into progressively larger and stable containers as it develops.
Keep the compost consistently moist during active growth. Water demand can be high during warm weather, but the plant should not remain waterlogged.
Feed regularly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser. Change to a high-potassium feed once flower buds begin to appear.
Place the plant in a warm, bright and sheltered position protected from strong winds.
Ecuadorian Angel’s Trumpet prefers warmer growing conditions than the high-altitude species. Protect it from cold nights and draughts.
Overwinter in a bright, frost-free greenhouse or conservatory, ideally above approximately 10°C. Reduce watering during winter but do not allow the root ball to dry completely.
