Brugmansia vulcanicola ‘Pink’ is a high-altitude Andean flowering shrub grown for its hanging pink trumpet-shaped flowers.

The plant develops a branching habit with oval green leaves. Its flowers are generally smaller and narrower than those of many warm-growing Brugmansia species.

Mature plants are expected to produce tubular flowers in shades of pink, sometimes with yellow, green or orange colouring towards the base or centre.

Brugmansia vulcanicola originates from montane areas of Colombia and Ecuador and generally prefers moderate temperatures and cool nights.

In the UK, Pink Angel’s Trumpet is best grown in a container that can be protected from frost during winter.

Growing Advice

Grow your Pink Angel’s Trumpet in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-draining compost. Move the plant into larger and stable containers as it develops.

Feed regularly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser. Change to a high-potassium feed once flower buds begin to appear.
