Jalapeño Tiger is a variegated jalapeño variety grown for its patterned foliage and edible fruit.
The leaves can display a mixture of green, cream and purple colouring. The jalapeño-shaped peppers may also develop pale or purple markings before eventually ripening towards red.
The fruit has the familiar flavour and medium heat associated with jalapeño peppers. It can be harvested green or fully ripe and used for pickling, stuffing, grilling, sauces and salsas.
In the UK, Jalapeño Tiger can be grown in a greenhouse, polytunnel or warm patio position. Its variegated foliage also makes it suitable for decorative container displays.

Growing Advice
Grow your Jalapeño Tiger in fertile, well-draining compost in a warm and bright position. Strong light encourages the development of foliage and fruit colouring.
Move the plant into a larger container if required to support continued growth and fruit production.
Keep the compost evenly moist during active growth, but avoid waterlogging. Variegated foliage may be more sensitive to sudden exposure to intense sunlight, so acclimatise indoor-grown plants gradually before moving them outside.
Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser during early growth. Change to a high-potassium tomato feed once flowers or young peppers appear.
Plants should only be placed outdoors after the risk of frost has passed.
Jalapeño Tiger is normally grown as an annual but may sometimes be overwintered in a bright, frost-free position.
Fruiting in the UK
Jalapeño Tiger can produce fruit successfully in the UK when provided with sufficient warmth and light.
Peppers may be harvested while green or allowed to ripen further. The amount of striping, purple colouring and foliage variegation will vary naturally between plants and individual fruit.

You will receive one Jalapeño Tiger plant growing in a 2-litre pot. Plants are typically dispatched at approximately 20–30 cm tall.
Young plants may not yet display the full variegation or fruit colouring seen on mature specimens.
